It is recognized internationally that most wetland habitats require active management in order to maintain and enhance habitat, floral and faunal diversity. Active management is particularly important where wetlands are close to centres of population and have to fulfil multiple land use objectives (for example wildlife conservation, human recreation and crop or fish production). AEC has experience of creating, enhancing and managing wetlands to meet specific wildlife conservation targets, enhance biodiversity and amenity and provide wildlife habitat alongside and in synergy with housing developments to benefit both amenity value and biodiversity.
